Eclectic Neighborhoods – Early Denver Homes
Many eclectic neighborhoods form core Denver real estate. Take a stroll. Stop in at a sidewalk coffee house and soak up the varied and interesting architecture of Denver’s early homes. Among others, you’ll see Victorian, Denver Square, Tudor and mid-century modern. The River North Art District (RiNo) lies north of the downtown area. Here you can stroll along the streets and mingle with creative artists while enjoying a host of art galleries and inviting cafes.
Unique Downtown Denver Real Estate
Unique Denver properties fill the downtown area. The Golden Triangle Museum District features the incredible area around the Denver Art Museum and the Public Library. You’ll see architectural marvels here. Then, combining an exciting mix of city culture, the Capitol Hill and Congress Park’s historic mansions intermingle with newer apartments and condominiums. A young, all-embracing community thrives here.
Cherry Creek North/Larimer Square
The Cherry Creek North Business District offers many great eateries and great shopping with more than 320 shops, galleries, boutiques, and spas which make this district the premier shopping area of Denver. There are oodles of options for shopping, nightlife and eating out. If you want to spend some time on Denver’s trendiest block, go to Larimer Square for upscale shops and boutiques. Or, find more trendy shops uptown where you’ll discover fabulous views of the Rocky Mountains.
Highland Neighborhood
Denver’s largest neighborhood, Highland, features three diverse commercial districts. After being featured in Travel + Leisure Magazine and National Geographic Traveler, Highland’s Hispanic heritage and culture gained renown. The Art District, barely south of downtown on Santa Fe, offers the largest concentration of art galleries in Colorado. Another popular place: Antique Row on South Broadway. You’ll find Asian culture and cuisine throughout the entire city.
Live in Riverfront, LoDo, Stapleton, Lakewood
A little way from Downtown are more distinct neighborhoods. On the South Platte River, The Riverfront neighborhood offers much to do, including the Children’s Museum and the Downtown Aquarium. In recent years, LoDo revived itself into one of the Denver’s most active areas. Check out the nightclubs of LoDo and the homey, tree-lined streets of Old South Gaylord and Old South Pearl. Two of the more famous Denver landmarks are the French Gothic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Colfax Avenue.
Stapleton, a rebuilt section northeast of Denver, boasts a wide variety of homes, restaurants, and shops. You’ll enjoy Denver’s diverse collection of eateries, cafes, and art galleries here. If you go southwest of Downtown, be sure to see Belmar, Lakewood’s own “downtown” with entertainment and lots of good food.
Golden NW Denver – Littleton SE Denver
You can quickly reach the little town of Golden on a short drive northwest of Denver. Here you can visit the resting place of Buffalo Bill. A little way southeast of Denver and you’re in the middle of Historic Downtown Littleton. Here you will see the true meaning of “Main Street” America, as you enjoy the sights of the century old buildings that boast some of the area’s most unique and privately owned businesses. Another attraction for the visitors will be Olde Town Arvada.
The Denver Economy
Why are so many people attracted to Denver? Its economy beats out many other major metropolitan areas. The 10 counties in the Denver-Aurora-Lakewood Metropolitan Area contribute almost 3 million residents and over 21,000 employer firms. Denver County boasts 715,000 residents with a median household income over $70,000. Big firms, small companies, and individual employers in diverse sectors add to the vibrant economy in Denver.
How’s the Weather?
Denver’s winters are usually quite mild, with a comfortable average daily high of 45 degrees; even 60 degree days are quite possible. The snow doesn’t stick around long in Denver, so golf courses and other outdoor venues, like cafes, can stay open year-round.
You can enjoy low humidity, which creates gorgeous, sunny days and comfortably cool evenings in a Denver summer. In late summer, most days average at a comfortable 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Because of Denver’s altitude, 5,280 feet above sea level, the Mile High City enjoys mild weather year-round.
Relocating to Denver?
Moving to the Mile High City? Many people move to Denver after they visit and experience the lifestyle. Denver’s impressive population growth is a testament. You too may fall in love with the charm of Denver Colorado!
