History of Henderson Colorado
Named for John D. “Colonel Jack” Henderson, the town incorporated in 1894. Formerly, folks called it Henderson Island. You notice older buildings on Brighton Road north of 120th Avenue, an area referred to as Downtown Henderson. Henderson Community Church sits among them.
